Price Low-Cost Cards Correctly with Marketplace Price Round Up

Cass Sapir

eBay requires Buy It Now listings to be priced at $0.99 or higher, which can create problems for dealers selling low-cost cards across multiple marketplaces. With CDP’s new Round Up Prices for eBay option, you can keep the card’s true sale price in Card Dealer Pro while automatically sending $0.99 to eBay when needed.

If you sell low-cost cards across multiple marketplaces, marketplace minimum prices can create an annoying problem.

eBay requires Buy It Now listings to be at least $0.99, while Whatnot requires listings to be at least $1.00.

Until now, dealers could end up increasing the Sale Price stored in Card Dealer Pro just to meet those marketplace requirements — which could cause the same card to be overpriced on CollX, Shopify, or other marketplaces.

With CDP's new Round Up Prices settings, you can keep the card's true Sale Price in Card Dealer Pro and let CDP automatically meet the minimum price required by each marketplace.

Who is this feature for?

Marketplace Price Round Up is especially useful for dealers who:

  • sell large quantities of lower-priced cards

  • regularly have inventory worth less than $1

  • cross-list inventory across multiple marketplaces

  • want the Sale Price in CDP to represent the card's actual price

  • don't want the rules of one marketplace to determine pricing everywhere else

For example, a card may realistically be worth $0.25 or $0.50 on CollX or in your Shopify store.

You should be able to price it that way — even if eBay or Whatnot require a higher minimum listing price.

Now you can.

How Price Round Up works

Round Up is configured separately in your eBay and Whatnot Marketplace Templates.

Your actual Sale Price remains unchanged in Card Dealer Pro. CDP only adjusts the price being sent to the marketplace when necessary.

eBay

eBay requires Buy It Now listings to be priced at $0.99 or higher.

In your eBay Marketplace Templates, enable:

List cards priced under $0.99 on eBay at $0.99

When enabled, a card with a Sale Price below $0.99 will automatically be listed on eBay for $0.99.

For example, if your card is priced at $0.25:

  • CDP Sale Price: $0.25

  • CollX: $0.25

  • Shopify: $0.25

  • eBay: $0.99

Cards already priced at $0.99 or higher are sent to eBay at their normal price.

Whatnot

Whatnot requires listings to have a minimum Sale Price of $1.00.

In your Whatnot Marketplace Templates, enable:

List cards priced under $1 on Whatnot at $1

When enabled, any card priced below $1 in CDP will automatically be sent to Whatnot at $1.

For example, if your card is priced at $0.50:

  • CDP Sale Price: $0.50

  • CollX: $0.50

  • Shopify: $0.50

  • Whatnot: $1.00

The original $0.50 Sale Price remains stored on the card in CDP.

Why this matters

The idea behind this feature is simple:

Marketplace-specific rules shouldn't force you to price your inventory incorrectly.

Your Sale Price in Card Dealer Pro should represent the price you actually want for the card. CDP can then handle marketplace-specific requirements when the listing is published.

That means:

  • more accurate pricing across your inventory

  • fewer marketplace listing errors

  • less manual price editing

  • easier cross-listing of low-cost cards

  • no need to raise prices everywhere just because one marketplace has a minimum

For dealers managing hundreds or thousands of inexpensive cards, this can remove a significant amount of unnecessary work.

Each marketplace can be configured independently

The eBay and Whatnot settings are separate.

You can enable Round Up for:

  • eBay only

  • Whatnot only

  • both marketplaces

CDP will then apply the appropriate minimum only when publishing to that marketplace:

  • eBay: cards below $0.99 → $0.99

  • Whatnot: cards below $1.00 → $1.00

Your stored Sale Price in CDP does not change.

Built from dealer feedback

This feature came directly from requests on the Card Dealer Pro Feedback Board.

Dealers told us they were having to overprice low-value cards in CDP simply to satisfy marketplace minimums. That created a bigger problem for dealers cross-listing the same inventory across CollX, eBay, Whatnot, Shopify, and other channels.

It was a great example of a small marketplace restriction creating unnecessary work at scale.

We agreed that the better approach was to let dealers store the correct price once and have Card Dealer Pro handle marketplace-specific requirements automatically.
