Recent API issues with eBay, Whatnot and CollX

Ted Mann

A surge in distributed attacks on several marketplaces has led to tighter security and less stable APIs (affecting listings, auth, and sold updates). Here's how we're addressing.

What's Happening?

Over the past few weeks, marketplaces like eBay, Whatnot, and CollX have been dealing with a surge in distributed attacks, which has led to tighter security and less stable APIs (affecting listings, auth, and sold updates). We’ve been working through this on our end to keep things running smoothly and address any issues that came up.

Watch a quick overview: https://youtu.be/IvEpVfoi4T0

  • We’ve added fallbacks and protections in CDP so listings still post and sales still register, even during marketplace disruptions

  • We’ve fixed key bugs, including:

    • CollX refunded orders not restoring quantity

    • eBay listings mis-marked as “ended” due to their refresh changes

    • Whatnot → CollX items being re-listed after sale

Bottom line: this was a mix of external attacks, API changes, and a few edge-case bugs. We’re rolling out better monitoring, faster alerts, and improved re-sync tools, and we’ll do a better job communicating early and often when issues happen.

If anything still looks off, reach out to support@carddealerpro.com and we’ll get it fixed.
